Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Jane Michael, the companies we work with, Production AI Engineering, Technical Leadership, and how our search process works.

We work with AI-native vendors whose products depend on production AI and serve regulated financial institutions as core customers. That includes companies serving banks, insurers, and other regulated financial institutions where customer requirements materially shape how the product is built, deployed, and operated.

Our public search coverage is organized around two categories: Production AI Engineering and Technical Leadership. We focus on roles with material responsibility for production AI outcomes, from direct technical ownership to responsibility for the teams, systems, and decisions behind those outcomes.

Production AI means AI systems that are live, relied upon, and operated in real environments. These systems have defined performance and reliability expectations, monitoring and operational controls, and ongoing responsibility when behavior degrades or failures occur.

Production AI Engineering covers individual contributors with direct technical responsibility for production AI systems. Technical Leadership covers leaders whose responsibility extends beyond personal execution to teams, systems, technical decisions, resources, standards, or operating mechanisms that shape production AI outcomes.

Security is not a separate Jane Michael search category. Security engineers may be relevant when their technical responsibility materially reaches production AI systems, such as customer deployment, infrastructure, access controls, reliability, governance, or other mechanisms that affect production outcomes.

We start with what the hire actually needs to be responsible for in production. From there, we focus the search on relevant operating experience and demonstrated responsibility rather than relying on titles or keyword matches alone.

Candidates can submit their background and search interests through the For Talent page. When experience may align with a relevant opportunity, we may reach out to discuss the role, the candidate's interests, and whether it makes sense to explore further.

Tell us about the role, the production outcome the hire needs to support, and any relevant operating context. We use that information to understand the search and determine the appropriate next step.
